Silent Water

Photo07_7.jpg

Across the ripples of a gentle sea, there it was. The iridescent sun rays talking to me.  Talking without speaking - the way some of us do. I felt something wonderful.

It was liberating; to float amongst others.

I was invading their home yet they welcomed me.

The morays were observing us as if they were the ones carrying the tanks. It was disturbingly beautiful. I can't explain the sensation of diving as I didn't feel human but the day I took my last breath, jumped backwards from Wolfi's boat and saw nothing but blue made me feel nothing; the simplicity of being weightless. I was so extremely terrified yet the idea of never coming back to shore pleased me. My body and mind were dancing, floating and flying all at once and so was this otherworldly life.

It feels like time slows down underwater and right there and then is exactly what I longed for and still do.

Looking up after having been surrounded by kaleidoscopic scales and seeing the sun looking down at you somehow makes you feel very omniscient yet so tiny.

Luca was exploring the unknown aiming to find a larger starfish than the previous. The sea stood still both beneath and above us. Evert was continuously filled with fury as young Thekla kept dancing and spinning from side to side, simply tremendously excited for life.

It wasn't long before I was off again far out at sea.

Yet, only when I closed my eyes.

For now.
